BURS 1st Research Internship & Fellowship Program 2025

Join 8 Months Long Comprehensive Program on Research Career Development

Program Objectives

Barishal University Research Society (BURS) is excited to introduce the very first Research Internship & Fellowship Program 2025—a milestone initiative in the history of the University of Barishal. This eight-month program is designed to guide students through a complete, structured, and meaningful research journey, especially those who genuinely want to build their skills and confidence in research.

The goal of this program is simple: to help young researchers grow. Over the course of eight months, participants will learn both basic and advanced research methods, explore essential data analysis tools (SPSS, R, GIS, Python, NVivo, KoboToolbox etc.), and receive hands-on training through faculty-led sessions and real research projects. Every participant will be placed in a research group under faculty supervision and will receive continuous guidance from experienced mentors to stay on track and make steady progress.

Beyond developing research skills, students will also receive support in writing and publishing research papers, preparing for international conferences, and learning how to apply for higher studies abroad—with help in writing SOPs, securing Letters of Recommendation, and improving language proficiency. The program also includes practical skill-building sessions on MS Office and basic computer tools to strengthen their overall academic capacity.

In short, this program is designed to prepare students for a competitive academic and global research career—while celebrating their progress with certificates, formal recognition, and awards at the end of the journey.
